COACHING COURSES
The first level of training introduces basic Choreography ideas as a stimulus, and allows for group and personal development of choreography elements. Course participants are taught 13 Basic Street Moves these give a set of ingredients which can be used time and time again in various new arrangements to give fresh and interesting Choreography. It can be used solely or as starting point for Choreography depending on the participants’ experience. This makes Street Cheer fully inclusive and allows participants to have ownership of their activity.
In terms of Choreography, Street Cheer encompasses Visual Effects such as Formations, Levels, Cannons, Ripples, Floor and Group work, creating visually pleasing, entertaining routines across all levels of training.
NEW LEADERSHIP COURSE IN STREET CHEER
Want help with your squads? Have you got some enthusiastic young people wishing to get into Street style teaching? Why not book a Street Cheer Leadership Course? A Leadership course specifically in Street Cheer is now available. This course is targeted at 14+ (Year 9+) school students. It teaches the key skills such as health and safety, risk assessing, communication and motivation skills, professional image, warm up and stretch. It is ideal for young assistant coaches and it runs alongside CSLA/ JSLA awards. See Breakdown below.
Street Cheer Leadership Award £35 Participants must be Yr 8+ 1 day (6HR) course teaching basic leadership and session delivery skills Mixed practical and theory The course will cover: Communication, Motivation, Team-building and Health & Safety Aimed at those wishing to develop leadership skills necessary to help run coaching sessions in their club Will give a qualification to assist Street Cheer trained coaches Participants will receive a resource pack and a certificate of completion Street Cheer Basic Skills £95 1 day (6HR) course introducing the basics of Street Cheer Mixed practical and theory The course will cover: Basic Skills, Cheers and Chants, Jump technique, Locking, Freestyle, Floor work (none weight bearing), Choreography, Lesson Planning and Health & Safety Participants will leave with the skills to deliver Street Cheer at a Basic Level to schools or community groups Participants will receive a resource pack and a certificate of completion
Street Cheer Intermediate Skills £115 1 day (6HR) course aimed at coaches wanting to develop their level of Street Cheer coaching knowledge with specific emphasis on Break Dance. Mixed practical and theory The course will cover: Intermediate Warm up and Stretch, Intermediate Floor work, Break Dance footwork, Jumps, Transitional Skills, Break dance moves Participants will leave with the skills to deliver Street Cheer at Intermediate Level to schools or community groups Participants will receive a resource pack and a certificate of completion
STREET CHEER WORKSHOP
Includes • Development of Locking and Popping including claps/clasps, points, wrist rolls, locks, stop and go, • Full locking routine • Freestyle development-building a repertoire of moves for freestyle • Confidence building for freestyle • Identifying individual strengths and weaknesses • How to make freestyle work for each participant • Tips on showmanship and crowd interaction • How to combine skills ready for freestyle performance • Freestyle circle (level dependant on groups ability) • Street Flow, relaxing the body and preparing it to take on the Street style • Short routines that can be used as warm ups and key to the development of the Street style • Tips and methods for Coaches to continue all covered skills in own sessions
The workshop is a practical session, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear
Suitable for coaches who have previously attended the Street Cheer Basic Skills Course and wish to develop knowledge and expertise in the above areas.
This workshop can also be delivered as a clinic for individual clubs or groups. It can be adapted and tailored to suit the group’s needs and ability. Prices will be quoted directly to clubs and are dependant on date, time, location and skills required.
